For ecommerce sellers, GST isn’t a monthly form — it’s a reconciliation problem. Your sales data lives in marketplace reports, your TCS lives in GSTR-2A, your fees carry GST that is claimable input credit, and your returns span two different periods. Filing from raw marketplace reports, the way most sellers do it, quietly leaks money in three places. OM Accounting files GST for 40+ ecommerce brands from reconciled books — which is why our clients’ TCS and input credits actually get claimed, in full, every month.
The Three Mismatches That Cost Sellers Money
- TCS (Section 52): marketplaces deduct 1% TCS on your sales and deposit it against your GSTIN. That money is yours — claimable in your cash ledger — but only if your GSTR-3B sales match what marketplaces reported. Mismatched filings strand TCS credits for lakhs of sellers every year.
- Fee GST / input credit: commission, shipping and advertising invoices carry GST that is legitimate input tax credit — if the fees are actually booked and matched to GSTR-2B. Sellers who file GST separately from their accounting routinely leave this credit unclaimed, paying tax twice on the same fees.
- Returns timing: a June sale returned in July must net off in the right period and the right return (including GSTR-1 amendments). Done wrong, you pay GST on sales you refunded — or invite a mismatch notice.
What Our GST Service Includes

- Fee-invoice ITC: marketplace fee invoices booked and matched to GSTR-2B monthly
- Multi-state GSTIN management for FBA-style registrations and correct place-of-supply treatment
- Notice support: mismatch and scrutiny replies drafted from your reconciled data
- Annual return (GSTR-9) support aligned to the year’s filings
Standalone or Bundled?
GST filing works best inside monthly ecommerce accounting, because the filing is only as good as the reconciliation underneath it. We do offer GST-only engagements where a seller’s bookkeeping is already clean — the free health check tells us (and you) which case you’re in. For what full-service accounting typically costs, see our ecommerce accounting pricing guide; our settlement reconciliation services page explains the reconciliation layer underneath every filing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Amazon already gives me a tax report — isn’t that enough?
Marketplace tax reports are inputs, not filings. They don’t reconcile TCS to your cash ledger, don’t match fee-invoice ITC to GSTR-2B, and don’t handle returns across periods. That’s where the money leaks.
We sell in 6 states via FBA — can you handle multi-state filing?
Yes; multi-state GSTINs are standard for our FBA clients, including place-of-supply and stock-transfer treatment.
We’ve received a GST mismatch notice. Can you help?
Yes. Bring the notice to a free health-check call (+91 80944 44888) — most mismatch notices trace back to TCS or returns-timing issues we deal with routinely.
Do Meesho and Flipkart TCS work differently from Amazon’s?
The law is the same; the reporting formats and timing differ per marketplace. We track TCS per marketplace precisely because a single blended figure hides the mismatches.
