Purpose of Department
The Statutory Reporting team Prepares and Review Financial Statements comprising of Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Account, Cash Flow Statement, Notes on Accounts and other Annexures to Annual or Interim Reports like Statement of Investments, Statement of Changes in Capital etc for different Alternate / Traditional set of Funds administered by HSS globally.
The Global Tax team provides tax reporting services to global base of funds administered by HSS. The position includes preparation & review of various tax related working papers and filing of returns for multiple countries.
We have opening for both Statutory Reporting team & Global Tax team.
Pre-preparation Activities (including Master Setups, if applicable).
Roll Forwards, Tallying the last audited accounts with the Last worked upon accounts and identifying and reconciling the differences by application of accounting concepts and ability to relate disclosures with the Accounting Standards.
Preparing & Reviewing Financial Statements, in accordance with local legal requirements and relevant accounting standards for the respective country, i.e. IFRS, UK SORP & US GAAP or Local GAAPs as applicable and within strict timelines.
Preparation & review of Balance Sheet, Income statement, cash flow (if required), relevant working papers, notes to accounts, Schedule of Investments etc. based on the reports extracted from the various accounting platforms, previous years signed accounts, prospectus, board minutes etc.
Preparation & review of interim and year-end tax working papers for US Tax, German tax & Australian tax reporting and filing tax returns.
Working through various sections of applicable US Tax law and preparation of Final Taxable Income Summary, Filing of federal and applicable state returns for funds using tax filing software, calculating Aktiengewinn and Zwischengewinn percentages on daily/weekly or monthly basis, preparation of BAS and distribution working papers on monthly/quarterly/half yearly or yearly basis.
Supporting the audit / review process as and when required. Also, support on other ancillary activities to the preparation of FS and/or audit process.
This would include building up an audit pack for the auditors. This would also involve reworking on the financial statements as appropriate and/or suggested by the reviewer, jurisdiction, clients or auditors. Would also be required to work on Distribution Statements, passing year end closing entries, filing of returns and Synthetic TER etc.
Identifying and Implementing opportunities for process efficiencies.
Putting through initiatives and ideas for process improvements.
Regularly update all management related reporting checklists and templates.
Updating the relevant MI files correctly and timely.
Share knowledge and impart frequent training to existing & new team members regarding New GAAP/IFRS/Accounting standards/US Tax Law/German Tax Law/ Australian Tax Law and/or amendments to them.
Train/Mentor new joiners to develop their skill & knowledge levels, foster development of co-workers, participate in development of cohesive teams.
Preparation and maintenance of process related documents e.g. SOP, Fund Specifics etc.
Ability to understand client and jurisdiction requirements and conform to them for all deliverables.
Support the Manager in the process and to work in perfect harmony to ensure service level excellence.
